- Contractor Profiles: Legal name, date of birth, Social Security Number (for tax reporting and background checks), driver’s license or government-issued ID, vehicle information, bank account or payment details for payouts, professional certifications, and availability preferences.
- Booking Information: Service selections, scheduling preferences, special instructions, recurring service configurations, and service-specific options.
- Payment Information: Credit/debit card numbers, billing addresses, and related financial data processed through our third-party payment processor (Square). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: Messages sent through our platform, customer support inquiries, feedback, reviews, and ratings.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device & Browser Data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, click patterns, session duration, referral URLs, and interaction timestamps.
- Location Data: With your consent, we may collect precise geolocation data from contractors to verify proximity to service addresses for access instruction delivery and service tracking purposes.

2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Google Services: Address autocomplete data, geocoding coordinates, and satellite imagery data (via Google Maps and Google Solar API) for property verification.
- Payment Processor: Transaction status, payment confirmation, and fraud detection signals from Square.
- Background Check Providers: Criminal background check results and identity verification status for contractors.
- Google Authentication: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile image as authorized by your Google account settings.
3. How We Use Your Information

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 Service Providers
- Payment Processing: Square receives payment information to process transactions securely.
- Cloud Hosting: Our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Render) host and store data with industry-standard security.
- SMS Delivery: Twilio receives phone numbers to deliver text message notifications.
- Mapping & Verification: Google receives address data for geocoding, mapping, and property verification.
- Email Delivery: Our email service provider receives email addresses to deliver transactional messages.
4.2 Between Users
- Contractors receive the customer’s name, service address, service details, special instructions, and access instructions (access instructions are only revealed when the contractor is within 300 feet of the property).
- Customers receive the contractor’s first name, profile information, rating, and service updates.
- Full contact information (phone numbers, email addresses) is shared only as necessary for service coordination.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), or government request. We may also disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public.
4.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you of any such change via email or prominent notice on our website.

6. SMS/Text Messaging
We offer optional SMS notifications for customers. By enabling SMS in your account settings and providing your phone number, you consent to receive transactional text messages. Key details:
- SMS is disabled by default; you must affirmatively opt in
- Messages are transactional only (booking updates, service alerts) — never marketing
- Message frequency varies based on booking activity (typically 1–5 per booking)
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately
- Reply HELP for assistance
- You may also opt out via your account settings or by contacting us
- We do not share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes

7. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service.
- Closed Accounts: After account deletion, we retain certain data for up to 7 years as required for tax reporting (IRS requirements for contractor 1099 data), legal compliance, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention.
- Booking Records: Retained for a minimum of 3 years for warranty, liability, and insurance purposes.
- Background Check Records: Retained in accordance with applicable federal and state law requirements.
- Anonymized Data: Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and improvement purposes.
